Red River Quilters

2011 Quilt Show Challenge:

"What's Blue to You?"

To get you thinking, here are some possibilities:  Do you think of your favorite vacation that was on the water, or up in the blue skies flying away, or camping in the Blue Ridge Mountains, or watching the bluebirds out your window?  Or is it a mood that you fall into every now and then? Perhaps  Elvis's Blue Suede Shoes are calling you back in time or you are having a Blue, Blue Christmas.  Maybe your idea will come ‘out of the blue!’

These are the criteria for the Challenge:

--Interpret ‘What’s Blue to You?’ in a quilt form of any type, size or color.  The quilt may include any color of fabric, blue is not required.  The requirement the committee is asking the quilter to include in the entry form is the story behind the quilt and that your quilt express the theme - "What's Blue to You?"

--The write up of your quilt should explain the idea and how you interpret "what's blue to you?  The quilt and the story should relate to each other.

Use your imagination, have fun, dig deep and think outside the box as we have done in many previous challenges!   Let's once again have lots of participation in our challenge category!
